Acceptable use and abuse

Domains and DNS managed through Domenebutikken must not be used for unlawful activity or to harm others.

1. Prohibited use

The service must not be used unlawfully or to violate registry rules or third-party rights. This includes malware and botnets, phishing and fraud, spam, unlawful sales, terrorism-related activity, child sexual abuse material, and deliberate infringement of trademarks, names or copyright. Content complaints should also go to the actual host when identifiable.

2. Reporting

Reports go to the abuse address published before launch and should identify the domain, abuse type, time, relevant logs or mail headers, reporter contact and a precise factual or legal basis. Do not send illegal imagery; provide a law-enforcement or approved hotline reference instead.

3. Review and action

We acknowledge and assess reports and may request evidence. Proportionate action may include notice, remediation, DNS blocking, locking, suspension or deletion where law or policy permits. Immediate threats, active phishing, malware and child sexual abuse reports are prioritized.

4. Appeal and restoration

Customers are notified where lawful and practical and may contest the basis with evidence. Restoration requires remediation and risk control. A sponsoring registrar or registry may make an independent decision that Domenebutikken cannot override.
